Senior named Scholar-Artist of Merit by LIAA

Longwood High School Senior Honored in  LI Scholar Artist ProgramLongwood High School senior Brennan Viruet has been named a Scholar-Artist of Merit by the Long Island Arts Alliance.  Brennan was recognized for his achievements in the category of visual arts and enjoys working in various media including painting, colored pencils, oil pastels, and more. In his junior year, Brennan won first place in the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts Award for Drawing and Painting.

The Scholar Artists Awards of Merit are given to students whose achievements in the arts and their academic studies have placed them in a class above their peers. 

Created and sponsored by the Long Island Arts Alliance, the Long Island Scholar-Artist program recognizes students judged to be “the best of the best” on Long Island in both academics and in the arts. Honorees are selected based on a demonstration of excellence in the arts established by a portfolio of their work, a display of excellence in academic achievement and submission of an essay on how the arts have enriched the life of the student.
