District Welcomes Coordinator of Student Support Services

Longwood Appoints Coordinator of Student Support ServicesThe Board of Education of the Longwood Central School District recently appointed Kimberly Longo as the Coordinator of Student Support Services.

Mrs. Longo began her tenure at Longwood in September of 2004 as a teacher at Coram Elementary School.  In September 2015, she served as an instructional coach at Coram where she assisted in the implementation of instructional strategies to support curriculum, modeled academic initiatives to promote student growth and progress, and worked collaboratively with teachers to identify areas of improved instruction. 

In her new role, Mrs. Longo’s responsibilities include the enhancement of instructional and behavioral strategies, collaboration in the development of student support teams, and supporting building and district level leadership.

“This position will provide critical and consistent support to our school community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael R. Lonergan.  “Mrs. Longo will align district departments by implementing parallel support using the same language, methods, and interventions.  We’re happy to have her join our school leadership team which continues to transform teaching and learning that benefits every child.”

Mrs. Longo received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College and earned a master’s degree in Literacy from Touro College.  She received her Advanced Certificate in District and Building Leadership from Niagara University. 

“I am truly excited and honored to continue serving the Longwood School community,” said Mrs. Longo.  “I believe it is through collaboration that we can continue to offer successful academic and behavioral interventions to meet the needs of all students.”
