Three Seniors Named Commended StudentsThree Longwood High School seniors, Alyssa Arbuiso, Daniel Flores, and Matthew Gries have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Program.

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are recognized for their exceptional academic excellence.  Although they will not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed in the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who enter the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

“To be recognized as a Commended Student is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, as well as their parents and teachers,” said High School Principal Scott Schuster.  “These students have displayed academic excellence, leadership, and a strong work ethic throughout their high school careers. We are proud to have them as members of our school community.”
